Dumpster Diva Project 2005

For the last 3 years, my decorative painting chapter, Windy
Brushes of N. Illinois, has held a "Dumpster Diva Contest."
In May we are to bring a dumpster find to our meeting for a photo
op. In September, we are to return it in its new transformed state
and members judge pieces for best of show. This item was a
cabinet side that one of my neighbors threw out in the trash and I
saved it for this family photo gallery piece. It was a lot of fun to work
on and especially fun to see what everyone else brought in.

published. It was inspired by a
window I decorated several years
ago for my house. It turned out
rather well and is so spooky!

Another Halloween creation. I made
this for a 2008 calendar that was
published by the Collage Sisthars.
There were 2 versions of the
calendars and my piece used in one of
them. I used a hang tag that we had
decorated the summer before as my
starting point and everything else fell
into place.

How it all got started:
I received this box as a gift from a dear friend and I just knew I
could use it for something else. I started playing around with
colors and a secret garden theme and this is the results. It
was so much fun to make that I knew I had to make more.
Hence, the beginning of a new adventure.
